Saltwater and Fresh Water Charter Fishing Adventures
The Strait of Juan de Fuca is one of the most prolific fishing regions in British Columbia. From Victoria and Port Renfrew to the remote Broken Islands Group near Ucluelet (located on the extreme west coast of Vancouver Island) these waters are prime salmon and halibut fishing regions for many reasons:
- From May to September, the Pacific Salmon Chinook (or King), Coho (Silver), Sockeye, Pink and Chum return each year to their native BC and Puget Sound rivers by the millions;
- Fishing is an activity we enjoy here year-round.
- Our region is easily accessible by car, ferry, or international air transportation, with a full range of recreational amenities located near many of the prime fishing areas.
- During summer peak spawning months, trophy salmon make their way to their individual rivers of origin via our coastal shorelines. 20-60 lb Chinook are not uncommon, with opportunities to catch trophy Coho during the latter part of the summer season.
- Steelhead and trout fishing is excellent on many of the Island’s pristine rivers and lakes.
- The winter season “feeder” or juvenile Chinook (King) salmon fishing can be extraordinary. This is an underrated and very productive “off-season” for 7-15 lb feisty juveniles who fight with the aggression of a mature spawner! Just make sure you bring your warmer clothes…
- Trophy Bass fly-fishing is available on many of the Island’s lakes!
